OBRACHIRE D.A PRIMARY SCHOOL TO GET A SOCCER ACCADEMY
As part of plans to establish a soccer academy in Ghana , Britain based Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy (OSMA) has donated soccer kits and other accessories to the Obrachire D.A Primary School in the Awutu Senya District the Central Region.
The donation was facilitated by ‘Team Accomplish’, a youth social networking group dedicated to the course of charity.
The donation of the kits forms part of the Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy’s aim to introduce a soccer project which will subsequently mature into a soccer academy in the Obrachire community .
Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy is a Blurton community based school which trains pupils aged 11-16, with specialisms in Mathematics and Business and Enterprise.
The academy is named after English soccer legend , Sir Stanley Mathews and works closely with English premiership side , Stoke City Football club.
Items donated included a set of branded jerseys, gloves, socks, cones and officiating flags. Other items were also made up of Football, inflators and a whistle.
Receiving the items from the ‘Team Accomplish’ led by Mr Gideon Commey, the Headmaster of Obrachire D.A Primary School, Mr Prosper Dartey thanked the ‘Team Accomplish’ and by extension OSMA for the selection of his school as a beneficiary of the soccer project.
He stressed that ‘ the Obrachire D.A Primary School is in full support of the project and for that matter, will put in all efforts to make the academy dream a reality’.
In explaining the reason behind the soccer project, Mr Gideon Commey said ‘ it is due to his team’s commitment to ensure that kids are guided to develop their talents to become responsible adults in future’.
He added that he visited OSMA somewhere in January where he proposed the idea of a soccer project which was massively upheld by authorities of the two schools.
Mr Gideon Commey made it known that, a delegation from OSMA is scheduled to pay a visit to the Obrachire D.A Primary School to deepen the relationship between them.
A football match between Obrachire D.A Primary School and the Ewutuman F.C was played to climax the presentation. Obrachire D.A Primary School won by 2-1.
