KWADWO ASAMOAH COMPLETES MOVE TO JUVENTUS




Ghanaian international, Kwadwo Asamoah has signed a five-year contract worth € 18 million to complete his much anticipated switch from Udinese to join Serie A champions Juventus.

The transfer which was scheduled to be sealed somewhere last month was officially confirmed by both clubs and the player earlier this week.

A statement on the official website of Juventus indicated that the club had made ‘definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Kwadwo Asamoah for a consideration of € 18 million to be paid in 3 years.

This news was corroborated by Udinese Football Club with a statement on teir website which read ; ‘Udinese Calcio has sold, with a share agreement, the footballers Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Anibal Isla to Juventus Football Club’.

Asamoah, who was voted by the Confederation of African Football as the Most Promising African Player in 2010 in two separate tweets on his twitter page confirmed his move to the Italian giants.

The dynamic midfielder was also believed to be scouted by hosts of European clubs including dethroned English champions, Manchester United after helping Udinese finish 3rd in the Scudeto title campaign to book Champions League qualifiers spot.

Kwadwo Asamoah who registered 3 goals in 31 league appearances thus becomes the only Ghanaian player to sign for the Italian champions after former Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah left the club in 2005 due to some defrences with then manager Fabio Capelo.

Juventus recently won the Italian Serie A and are hoping to retain it and also make a strong case in Europe next season hence, the acquisition of Asamoah whom they claim to be ‘one of the rising stars of world football ‘ is seen as a major addition by some pundits of the game.
